Hi there

Brissiemaz here.

‘Brissie’ is short for Brisbane – my hometown in Australia – and Maz is an Aussie version of Mary. So, I’m Mary from Brisbane and I’m glad you’ve dropped by my blog.

I set up this blog to help me make a start writing a book. Bits and pieces of it have been sloshing about in my brain for a while now – since I visited England some time back.

It’s amazing how the act of putting words in print and in public sharpens up the old thought processes. Whether or not this has been to a successful degree only time will tell.

I’ve initially posted book chapters as numbered posts then put them in a page format under Index for My Trip to England (see above, under photo).  This  makes it easier to read as a book. I’ve done it that way because I’m too stupid to figure out how to use all the features that the site assures me it has on offer. Maybe one day I’ll master some of them – but don’t hold your breath!  Posts with no numbers are my random burblings or re-blogs from sites I find interesting.

Hi Mary, good on you. I recently had a book published: “God’s Shabby Clothes” and it is selling online through a number of stores, like Amazon and Barnes and Noble. It is a selling at a textbook price, unfortunately but it is a spirtuality text essentially. I am happy to support you in your writing, just let me know How. Good luck and see you at Music practice.

Hi Mark, Good luck with your book. Lot of work isn’t it? You can help me by
firstly, reading some or all of the chapters so far (Click on Index of Book Chapters)
secondly, if you like what you read leave a comment at the very bottom of the chapter page, Leave a Reply…Leave a comment here.
It’ll ask for your email address (which is not published). I think that’s to stop nuisance comments, but if you don’t want to do that
just send me a quick comment via email using my hotmail address. The aim is to demonstrate to a prospective publisher that people enjoy reading what I write!?!
      Here’s hoping!

Thanks for liking my Photo Challenge post! YOu have a lovely blog and I can relate to many things you write about: England (I lived there for 8 years), Australia (I have family there and was in Sydney recently) and I have visited Brisbane. I will come back to read more of your posts, and do drop by mine again.

G’day…. thanks for dropping by my blog, I live just down the road from you (in Aussie terms of distance!!) I live on the Goldcoast. Well done with the book writing, good idea trialling it in your posts

Hello Mary and many thanks for finding time to drop into to my Muck, Line and Thinker blog (and starting to follow it too!). I am struck as I “wander around” your blog by how different our two gardens seem to be at first sight – partly to do with the opposite seasons I guess, but also the wildlife.
Will come back to yours when I have some more time, but keep gardening – and blogging eh?

    • brissiemaz says:

Hello beeseeker, thanks for visiting 🙂 Do you have me confused with another blogger…. I was wondering about your reference to wildlife. I have a post about flamingoes I saw when I went to London….I live in Australia – so unfortunately I rarely get to see those wonderful birds. I was very lucky to see them when I did….especially as they’re not in a zoo.
Have visited San Marco so was interested to read your post about it. Good stuff 🙂

    Hi brissiemaz,

All the best to your writing endeavours! You can find quite a lot of tools, tips and guidelines on writing and preparing manuscripts in SoundEagle’s website at http://soundeagle.wordpress.com.

Please feel free to contact SoundEagle if you need or like SoundEagle to improve, create and/or design website(s) for you, and to augment your websites with social media marketing/management.

By the way, Brisbane winter is just lovely and is SoundEagle’s favourite time of the year. 🙂

Happy Juky to you and your family!

    • brissiemaz says:

I’ll bear all this in mind…thank you. As for Happy Juky….is that some quirky WP-speak with which I’m not acquainted or did you simply mean July? Till I hear from you I’ll take it as the latter and send it right back to ya.
You’re right, I have no reason to complain about our winter weather….but I was miffed when I wanted to take summer footage for ‘Summertime’ and everyone was wearing jumpers and warm jackets…mighty thoughtless of them, don’t you agree? Today has been beautiful, warm and sunny, no complaints from me.
      Thank you again 🙂

      • SoundEagle says:

Oops! Your intuition has served you well. Please pardon SoundEagle. It is still early in July and a typo is already coming between us. . . .

The songs from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess is always an excellent choice for “cover music”.
